Hiding in Plain Sight: Surveillance Camouflage

Exploring anti-surveillance techniques through work in Yoke Collective, this workshop explores activist tools to question the use of facial recognition.

Using face paint, hair extensions and other creative attachments, surveillance butts heads with creativity as new creative looks and designs attempt to fool CCTV systems.

This workshop has been to the V&A, Barbican and UCL, and been further explored through work with the Dazzle Club.

Two white men are close to the camera. One draws on the other's face in orange face crayon.
A long line of people standing side on the the camera are holding mirrors up to their faces whilst they draw colourful block designs on their face.
In the reflection of a handheld mirror is the decorated face of a young person with colourful hair extentions and face paint.
